Business Correspondent / Business Facilitator (BC/BF) Certification is issued by IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking & Finance) and is mandatory for anyone working as a BC or BF, including CSC VLEs. Here’s the complete step-by-step process to get certified.
Step 1: Apply for BC/BF Training
Start by enrolling in the BC/BF Training course — Basic or Advanced, depending on your requirement. Training is conducted through IIBF-approved institutes such as
- CSC Academy,
- BIRD,
- NIESBUD,
- IIBM,
- RSETI centres.
Once you complete the training, you’ll receive a Training ID along with a Training Certificate, which makes you eligible to sit for the certification exam. The training fee for the Advanced Course is approximately ₹3,200 (this can vary slightly depending on the training centre).
Step 2: Apply for the BC/BF Exam
Once your training certificate is in hand, apply for the BC/BF Certification Exam conducted by IIBF. You can apply in two ways:
- Direct Exam Centre — apply through the IIBF portal
- CSC Exam Centre — apply through your CSC Digital Seva login,
The exam application fee is approximately ₹1,000. It’s worth double-checking the current fee on IIBF’s official site before applying, since it’s revised from time to time.
Step 3: Get Your Score Card and Certificate
Once you clear the exam, you’ll get your pass score card right away. The official certificate takes a little longer — it’s usually sent to your registered email, and you can also log in and download it directly from IIBF’s website if it doesn’t land in your inbox.

National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development. (NIESBUD). Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MoSDE)
Indian Institute of Bank Management (IIBM)
CSC Academy
National Academy of RUDSETI(NAR), Bangalore and its network of RSETIs, and
The Banks, at their discretion may also provide mandatory training to BCAs duly adhering to the training structure/modules designed by the Coordination Committee.
Other than the above named Institutes, no other Institute or organization is permitted to impart training to BC’s/BF’s.
