Symbiosis and CSC Academy join hands to bring educational and skill courses to rural areas
Pune, July 18: Symbiosis Open Education Society (SOES) has partnered with CSC Academy to provide
an array of educational and vocational skill courses to learners in rural and remote areas of the
country.
A MoU on this was signed between Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Principal Director, SOES and Dr. Dinesh Tyagi,
CEO, CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, Ministry of Electronics & IT, today in Pune. As per the
agreement, SOES shall leverage the network of Common Services Centers for reaching out to potential
learners for enrolling in short and long term distance learning programmes.
CSC’s shall act as SOES admission facilitation centres and assist potential candidates to seek admission
with SOES. CSCs meeting the infrastructure and manpower requirements will also be selected to
function as SOES examination centres.
SOES and CSC Academy will also offer short term skilling courses in blended learning format, coupled
with hands-on industry training for rural youth.
Elaborating on the partnership, Dr. Swati Mujumdar said, “The mission of SOES is to reach the
unreached and provide access to quality education. Similarly, CSCs have been established to provide
basic services to the last mile. There is a synergy between the two organisations towards reaching the
remote areas. I hope this collaboration will help take quality education and skill development
programmes to the remotest parts of our country.”
CEO, CSC SPV, Dr. Dinesh Tyagi said, “This strategic partnership will enable youth and adult learners
from rural and semi-urban areas to acquire education and marketable skills. There are more than 3.5
lakh CSCs that will be leveraged to extend the reach of educational and vocational programmes
offered by Symbiosis.”
