Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Shahri Rojgar Guarantee Yojana (MSRGY): A Quick Overview
The Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Shahri Rojgar Guarantee Yojana (MSRGY) gives wage employment to eligible families living in urban areas of Rajasthan. It is run by the Local Self Government Department and engages residents in public development, sanitation, maintenance and environmental work in their own cities and towns.
Background and Renaming
The scheme was launched in 2022 as the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme. It was renamed MSRGY through an order dated 25 November 2024. Initially it guaranteed 100 days of work per family each year. From 1 April 2023, this was raised to 125 days. It is meant for urban households; rural households are covered by the Central Government’s Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), earlier called MGNREGA.

- Work must be provided within 15 days of a work demand
- Wages paid directly to the worker’s bank account (DBT) every 15 days
- Equal wages for men and women doing the same work
- A free job card valid for 5 years, covering the whole family

How to Apply
Through the MSRGY portal
- Click “Apply for Work” and enter your Jan Aadhaar number or enrolment ID.
- Verify the OTP sent to the head of the family’s mobile.
- Select the family members and submit. The urban local body verifies the application and issues the job card the same working day.
Through the Rajasthan SSO portal
- Create an SSO ID using your Jan Aadhaar details and OTP, then log in.
- Select the MSRGY service and enter your Jan Aadhaar number.
- Select members aged 18 to 60 who can do labour work, accept the self-declaration and submit.
- Download the job cards.
Through an e-Mitra centre
Visit your nearest authorised centre with your Jan Aadhaar details. The operator will help with registration and the application, and you should keep the acknowledgement and job card details.
Requesting Work
A job card does not assign work automatically. You must submit a separate work request:
- Click “Apply for Work” on the portal and verify the OTP.
- Select the family member(s) who need work and click “Apply”.
- Alternatively, submit a work demand (Form-1) to the urban local body, stating the month or fortnight needed.
- The department will phone you with the work, which must be provided within 15 days.
