Karnataka Chief Minister’s Vidyarthi Sahaya Hasta Scheme: Free Online Coaching for KPSC and Police Exams

Private coaching for state recruitment exams is expensive. Karnataka’s Chief Minister’s Vidyarthi Sahaya Hasta Scheme offers eligible candidates free online coaching, with live classes, recorded videos and study material. You apply online with Aadhaar, and you can choose up to three exams.

Not the same as the other Vidyarthi Sahayahasta scheme. Karnataka also runs a similarly named scheme that gives 7.5% reservation to rural government school students for admission to professional courses. That is a separate benefit from this coaching programme.

What is the scheme?

The scheme is officially listed as the Honourable Chief Minister’s Vidyarthi Sahaaya Hasta Scheme: Free Online Coaching for Various Competitive Examinations. The Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka, is the nodal agency, and the service is listed by the Department of Higher Education. It targets applicants preparing for government recruitment exams who can’t afford private coaching.

Around 90,000 candidates are to be trained across the state at a total outlay of ₹9 crore.
