Maharashtra Eklavya Scholarship: ₹5,000 a Year for Meritorious Postgraduate Students

Many bright students stop after graduation because their families can’t afford a postgraduate degree. Maharashtra’s Eklavya Scholarship (officially the Eklavya Financial Assistance Scheme, or Ekalavya Arthik Sahayya Yojana) gives selected students ₹5,000 a year, plus a fee waiver concession as per the rules. It is open to students of all categories, and selection is purely on merit.

What is the scheme?

The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Maharashtra, runs the scheme for meritorious students from economically weaker families who take admission to a regular postgraduate course. Applications, both fresh and renewal, are accepted only online on the MahaDBT (Aaple Sarkar DBT) portal. The money goes straight to the student’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
