Uttarakhand Farmer Pension Scheme: Benefits, Eligibility and How to Apply
The Uttarakhand Farmer Pension Scheme, also known as the Uttarakhand Kisan Pension Yojana, gives elderly farmers who still cultivate their own land a steady monthly income. Launched in 2014, it is run by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand, alongside other pensions such as the Old Age Pension.
Latest Budget Update
The Uttarakhand Supplementary Budget for 2026-27 includes a ₹9 crore provision for the Kisan Pension Yojana. This adds budgetary support, but it does not automatically raise the pension or change the eligibility rules. The pension stays at ₹1,200 per month unless the government issues an official order revising it.
Key Benefits
- ₹1,200 per month, credited directly to the beneficiary’s bank account
- No income limit and no BPL card requirement
- Covers small and marginal farmers cultivating up to 2 hectares
- Tenant farmers with a valid agricultural lease can also qualify
Who Is Eligible?
- Resident of Uttarakhand
- Farmer above 60 years of age
- Personally cultivates agricultural land of up to 2 hectares
- Tenant farmers need a valid lease and must cultivate the leased land themselves
- Must not already be receiving another pension approved by the Social Welfare Department or the Uttarakhand government
That last point means a farmer already receiving the Old Age Pension cannot claim the Kisan Pension as well.

- Land certificate from the Revenue Officer or Assistant Agriculture Officer
