Uttarakhand CM Meritorious Scholarship: ₹50,000 for Admission to a Top 50 NIRF University
Getting into one of India’s best universities is an achievement, but it also means higher fees and the cost of living away from home. Uttarakhand’s CM Meritorious Scholarship Scheme gives students from the state a one-time incentive of ₹50,000 when they secure an undergraduate seat at a top 50 NIRF-ranked university.
What is the scheme?
The scheme rewards meritorious students of Uttarakhand who win admission to an undergraduate programme at a university ranked in the top 50 of the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) Overall category. The Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand, runs it through the Directorate of Higher Education, Haldwani.
Its goals are to recognise academic merit, encourage Uttarakhand’s students to compete for places at the country’s most prestigious institutions, and give financial support at the start of their higher education.
