Uttar Pradesh One District One Cuisine (ODOC) Financing Assistance Scheme: Benefits, Eligibility and How to Apply
The Uttar Pradesh One District One Cuisine (ODOC) Financing Assistance Scheme helps entrepreneurs set up, expand or diversify food businesses built around the signature dish or food product of their district. It is the financing component of the “Ek Janpad Ek Vyanjan” programme, notified on 5 May 2026. The Directorate of Industries and Enterprise Promotion and the District Industries and Enterprise Promotion Centres (DICs) run it.
Why It Matters
Many UP districts have a signature dish or food product, yet most producers use old equipment, weak packaging and have limited market access. The scheme aims to add value to these products, raise production capacity, improve quality and make them competitive in national and international markets.
How It Works
Banks finance the project, and the department adds margin money on top of the loan. The margin money is released through DBT and stays in the beneficiary’s account as a Term Deposit Receipt (TDR), with no interest on that portion. After 2 years of successful operation without default and a joint inspection by the DIC and bank, it is adjusted against the loan as a grant.
Margin Money Slabs
| Total project cost | Margin money |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹25 lakh | 25% of cost, maximum ₹6.25 lakh |
| Above ₹25 lakh to ₹50 lakh | ₹6.25 lakh or 20% of cost, whichever is higher |
| Above ₹50 lakh to ₹1.50 crore | ₹10 lakh or 10% of cost, whichever is higher |
| Above ₹1.50 crore | 10% of cost, maximum ₹50 lakh |
