Delhi Mukhyamantri Khel Protsahan Yojana: Up to ₹20 Lakh a Year in Training Support and Big Cash Rewards for Medals
A sporting career runs on coaching, kit, nutrition and travel, and those costs add up fast. Delhi’s Mukhyamantri Khel Protsahan Yojana (MMKY) supports eligible sportspersons with annual training grants of up to ₹20 lakh, tournament reimbursement of up to ₹2 lakh, and cash incentives of up to ₹7 crore for an Olympic or Paralympic gold.
Check the dates before applying. The Achievement Recognition 2025-26 window has closed. Online applications ran from 7 October to 21 October 2026, and printed applications were due by 28 October 2026. Today is 8 November. Applications are invited afresh each year through the Directorate of Education’s sports portal, so watch it for the next cycle and for the other components.
What is the scheme?
MMKY is a Delhi Government initiative run by the Sports Branch of the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi. It helps athletes access better training, compete in major events, and be rewarded for results. The type and amount of help depends on the component, your eligibility and the Government’s notifications.
In October 2026 the Delhi Government approved ₹9.75 crore for 123 sportspersons across the elite and school levels, released in phases against verified bank accounts and expenditure records. It also widened the list of covered disciplines to include both traditional and modern games.
