Delhi DURGA E-Auto Scheme: Pink Electric Autos for Women and Transgender Drivers

Delhi is allotting 1,300 pink e-autos to women and transgender persons who want to own and drive their own vehicle. The Delhi DURGA E-Auto Scheme combines a purchase subsidy with cheaper loans, so it is a route to self-employment rather than a free vehicle.

Applications are open now. The portal launched on 12 October 2026 and the window is meant to stay open for three months, which points to roughly mid-January 2027. The source doesn’t give an exact closing date, so check the portal for it.

What is the scheme?

DURGA stands for Driving, Upliftment and Rozgar for Women/Transgender Green E-Auto Scheme. The Delhi Cabinet approved it on 23 September 2026, and the Delhi Transport Department is the nodal agency. The 2026-27 Budget allocates ₹20 crore for electric autos for women and transgender drivers.

The aim is to promote financial independence, women’s participation in transport, transgender inclusion, cleaner mobility and last-mile connectivity.

It is not a free auto. Support comes through a purchase subsidy and interest subvention on vehicle loans. Check the official guidelines for the exact amounts, since the source doesn’t state them.
