JanSamarth Portal: National Portal for Credit-Linked Government Schemes

Getting a loan for a business, farm, home, or rooftop solar system can be confusing when you don’t know which government scheme fits you or where to apply. The JanSamarth Portal, launched by the Government of India on 6 June 2022, brings credit-linked Central Government schemes onto one digital platform. It is managed by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, and as of the June 2026 government update it covers 16 credit-linked schemes across agriculture, business, housing, renewable energy, and livelihoods.

Key Benefits

  • One portal to check eligibility and apply for loans under multiple schemes
  • A few questions about your needs help identify suitable schemes
  • Digital data verification and auto-filling of available information to simplify processing
  • A possible in-principle sanction before the application goes to your selected bank branch
  • Connects applicants with participating banks and lenders
  • Available in eight languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, and Kannada
  • Assisted support through bank business correspondents and authorised partners

An in-principle sanction is not final loan approval. The lender makes the final decision, and loan amounts, interest rates, and repayment terms vary by scheme and lender.
